Best practices to safely open during the COVID-19 pandemic
RESPONSIBLE FITNESS FACILITY CHECKLIST

Fitness and exercise facilities may provide indoor & outdoor activities.

All participants, including those in group exercises & fitness classes must remain at least 10 feet apart.

Total number of attendees (including instructors) may not exceed 75% of the allowable capacity including staff, members, and guests.

Employees working in customer-facing areas must wear face coverings over their nose and mouth at all times.

Equipment must be thoroughly disinfected after each use. Frequently contacted surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected often during operation. Any equipment that cannot be thoroughly disinfected are prohibited from use.

Hand sanitizer or hand washing stations must be easily accessible for all.

Hot tubs, spas, splash pads, spray pools, and interactive play features must be closed.

Outdoor & indoor swimming pools may allow 75% capacity with 10 feet of physical distance per swimmer or household. Swim classes must adhere to the same restrictions.
Free swim is allowed.​

Provide clear communication and signage for physical distancing in areas where individuals may congregate, especially at entrances, in seating areas, and in check-out lines.

All facilities must comply with the Governor Executive Order No. 67: Guidelines for All Business Sectors and their sector-specific guidance.

Test your workforce for COVID-19 (strongly encouraged)

If any such business cannot adhere to these requirements, it must close.
